The Novikov Group

The Arkady Novikov Group includes approximately 50 different projects in the restaurant, retail and entertainment sectors, of various formats and for different market segments. The company has been in the business of opening and managing restaurants since 1992.

In 1992, Arkady Novikov opened his first restaurant, Sirena, which celebrated 18 years of serving Moscow seafood lovers in June 2010.

The Group includes more than 30 stand-alone family- and fine-dining restaurants (Aist, Barashka, Bolognese, Bon, Cantinetta Antinori, China Club, Fifty/Fifty, Galereya, GQ Bar, Ju-Ju, Market, Meat Club, Nedalny Vostok, Pepperoni, Prichal, Prisoner of the Caucasus (Kavkazskaya Plennitsa), Shore House, Sirena, Syr, Tatler, Tsar’s Hunt (Tsarskaya Ohota), Uzbekistan, Vesna, Vogue Café, Vanil, Veranda u Dachi, Veterok, Yoko, White Café, The White Sun of the Desert (Beloye Solntsye Pustini)), five casual-dining chains (Delis Café, Kish Mish, Little Japan (Malenkaya Yaponiya), Prime Star, Yapona Mama), the karaoke bar Kreek, the company NRG product (a seafood supplier), agricultural enterprise Agronom, and the chain of floral salons Flower Studio 55.

The agricultural concern Agronom, LLC, was founded in 2002. On six hectares of land in the pristine area of Rublyovo-Uspenskoye Highway, greenhouses hold 64,000 plants, including strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, melons, and herbs. The Group has marketed and sold the enterprise’s products since 2005 under the brand NOVIKOV.

Flower Studio 55 is a chain of floral salons that offer a wide range of fresh flowers, a rich assortment of original bouquets, baskets, and stylish floral arrangements, as well as potted plants, garden plants, and all imaginable accessories.

In 2005, the Arkady Novikov Group formed the company Novikov Catering, which specializes in off-premises catering, banquets, buffets and other events. Novikov Catering concentrates its efforts on maintaining a superior level of cuisine, delivery and service. The company has consciously cultivated a narrow gastronomic specialization in order to maintain maximum quality.

In 2005, together with the Karo Film group of companies, the Arkady Novikov group opened the Oktyabr entertainment and restaurant complex. The largest multiplex theater in central Moscow, Oktyabr also includes five restaurants: the French bakery-café Delis, Japanese restaurant Little Japan (Malenkaya Yaponiya), Italian restaurant Porto Chervo, and a karaoke bar that shares its name with the complex.

In 2006, luxury real estate firm Mainstreet was acquired by the Arkady Novikov Group. The firm provides all necessary services for transactions involving city, suburban and international real estate. In the area of commercial real estate, the company specializes in spaces for restaurants and boutiques.

A number of notable projects were launched in 2007: the unique pan-Asian restaurant Nedalny Vostok, the chain of beer restaurants Dymov No. 1, Japanese restaurant Yoko, the ostentatious GQ Bar, a second Flower Studio 55 location on Balchug Street, and a second location of the Azerbaijani restaurant Barashka. That same year, the Phillipe Starck-designed restaurant Bon came under the Group’s management and was renamed Bon2.

In 2007, the Group also introduced a new discount program, which provides participants with discounts at most Arkady Novikov projects.

In 2008, an expansive new 250-person-capacity mansion intended for winter use opened at the suburban restaurant Veterok.

In 2009, the doors opened on home-style Italian restaurant Francesco, Arkady Novikov’s first project in St. Petersburg and a joint enterprise founded with the company Ginza Project.

In February 2009, a new location of the Flower Studio 55 chain opened on Petrovka Street.

On April 22, 2009, the restaurant Bolshoi held its grand opening. Arkady Novikov took part in designing the interior, the crowning touch of which is a true innovation: an exclusive collection of works by contemporary painters and sculptors, including Dietrich Klinge, Isabel Munoz, George Pusenkoff, Juan Hernandez Pijuan, Pierre Soulage, and Antoni Tàpies.

In mid 2009, the restaurant Biskvit on Kuznetsky Most was closed for reconstruction, and in its place in October the restaurant Meat Club opened, a fine-dining establishment with a club-like atmosphere designed for those with discriminating taste when it comes to meat.

In January 2010 in the entertainment and restaurant complex Oktyabr opened the restaurant Indabar, which offers a menu of hits from Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines: Uzbek plov, Chinese dim sum, Japanese rolls, Indian tandoori chicken, kebabs, and, of course, everyone’s favorite hand-made savory pastries of Central Asian descent: belyashi, chebureki and samsa.

In February 2010, Moscow residents and guests celebrated the simultaneous opening of two places in the very center of Moscow—Mister Lee and Macho Grill. Mister Lee is a traditional pan-Asian restaurant, with a menu that gives greatest prominence to dishes from China, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. Macho Grill is a Brazilian restaurant that features many varieties of the preparation known as “churrasco”—meat or other ingredients cooked on a special grill with sea salt—as well as a sweeping bar at the front where they mix up the classic Brazilian sugar-cane-liquor cocktail Caipirinha.

In March 2010, the first location of the Makao Café teahouse opened with a menu that features not only a wide range of teas and award-winning desserts but also authentic dim sum and wok dishes prepared by the restaurant’s team of Chinese cooks.
