VOGUE Café is a favorite of the capital’s fashionable crowd, a restaurant that sprung up one summer day to beautify the traffic-jammed intersection of Neglinnaya Street and Kuznetsky Most. It’s a point at which everything comes together—gastronomic delight, the lightness of being, the inevitability of encounter. The stars shine on everyone, and all the guests here are stars. There is a magnetism about the place. Breakfast is served into the evening, and lunch and dinner all night. You can gaze at the photographs on the walls, and monitor the latest trends. Fashionable motifs, fashionable people—here today and gone tomorrow, with others in their place. Fashion is fickle, but it’s the only thing that will never go out of fashion. VOGUE Café is a story of fashion, a story of today, an utterly contemporary history.
The dominant elements of the interior are the enormous lamps and ubiquitous photographs, as well as the chairs of diverse colors and sizes. The central concept employed by the interior’s designer, Englishwoman Ann Boyd, is that everyone comes up with one’s theme on one’s own.
The “simple” cuisine from Yury Rozhkov is in fact not so simple. His rule is that when the base ingredient is high-quality and fresh, and the cook is talented and bold, even the most banal Salad Olivier becomes a masterpiece. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and light fare such as sandwiches and fresh baked goods from pastry chef Marina Ryabchikova.
