Prichal (“Mooring”) embodies simplicity in its purest possible sense—no additives or adulterations.

The forest, the river—the entire setting is completely natural, connected to nature. Nearby lies a beach on which guests lie out in summer and to whom the restaurant’s waitstaff brings drinks and snacks. In fall, the forest is unspeakably beautiful. In winter, the river freezes over and turns into an ice rink; guests are given skates and served mulled wine.

In the building above the dock, the interior is congenial, unburdened by artifice, with comfortable furniture and pictures of famous people hung as though the figures in them were beloved relatives of the restaurant’s owners.

The menu is also absolutely fabulous in its simplicity. The appetizer section is a collection of everything of the moment—from carpaccio and burrata to herring with potatoes and onions. There’s also sushi, sashimi, and rolls. The entrées include dishes from the tandoor, those made in a wok, others cooked on the grill, and still others from the smokehouse.
