A cozy restaurant with a warm atmosphere and an interior that invokes the spirit of an African safari, which is in fact the thing that served as Arkady Novikov’s inspiration for the project. The food is home-style, both in terms of dish selection and presentation. There is a emphasis on meat—on different kinds and on different styles of preparation.
In the open kitchen, exposed for all to see, is a wood-fired oven with three fire chambers and a grill. Pieces of raw meat are displayed in a case at the edge of the kitchen, alongside an appetizing array of vegetables and fruit and fresh fish on ice, the latter of which is nothing unusual for Moscow restaurant-goers these days.
Name
The name Ju-Ju is a word of West African origin that means an amulet or talisman, as well as the supernatural power wielded by such an amulet.
The restaurant opened on
November 15, 2006.
