Arkady Novikov’s first restaurant, opened in 1992. To this day, Sirena has retained its original concept of European cuisine with a focus on seafood. And to this day, the restaurant has also retained its individuality without losing relevance.
The restaurant’s interior, designed 17 years ago now, is fashioned after a ship’s cabin. Sturgeon amble with slow dignity in the watery depths under the glass floor. Large photographs hang on the walls; old books line shelves that stand between the images. Another special element of the interior is a glass case showing off the day’s catch.
The culinary fantasies of Stefano Vomero have always been interesting to those able to appreciate the chef’s rich imagination. And he, in turn, is ready to share gastronomic secrets of not only Russian but also European and Asian cuisines.
The food at Sirena is unique. Every dish on the menu is beloved and requested. Every type of fish on the ice inside the restaurant’s glass case has its devotees. Depending on the day, Sirena may have available Murmansk crabs, turbot, and even lobster, which, upon ordering, is retrieved from the tank in front of the guest’s very eyes and taken into the kitchen alive.
