Moscow restaurant Bon is the third project of the same name by one of the leading contemporary industrial designers, Philippe Starck, whose name has become legendary even in his lifetime.
The Moscow Bon opened in April 2006 and is an eccentric union of an aristocratic aesthetic with the most fashionable trends of the 21st century.
In October 2007, Bon came under the management of Arkady Novikov and Alexander Sorkin. The new partners changed its concept, transforming it into a club-restaurant, a shift that opened up a whole new range of possibilities for it. From then on, Bon became a place that was comfortable and pleasant to be in at any time of day or night.
About Bon’s interior:
The concept behind the restaurant’s interior is the creation of a kingdom of sumptuous chaos. Formless minimalism and an eclectic admixture of classical baroque with provocative surrealism, the avant-garde and casual chic—a design that balances on the border between scandalousness and restraint, kitsch and elegance. Absolutely everything here is unique and inimitable: the asymmetrical forms; the bold lines; the delinquent scrawls on the concrete walls; the gigantic candelabras fringed with thin strings of wax; the bleak metal stools adorned with casts of human facial features; the sinister black lampshades; the car tires made into seats; the singed regal armchairs. . . . With its virtuosic combination of styles, colors, and attitudes, Bon is the embodiment of irreproachable opulence and elegant comfort.
